GCA Welcomes Theatre Arts!
We are excited to announce the first ever GCA musical theatre production, Disney’s The Lion King, Jr! It will be performed by middle school and high school students on April 4 and 5, 2025 at The Lamb's Chapel. Tickets can be purchased beginning March 3. Click here for ticket information.
Why a Theatre Program:
- To engage students who have a desire to be involved in theatrical arts.
- To foster growth in students creatively, to help them build their self-confidence, to show them the value of being a part of a team, and to grow them as bold disciples of Christ.
- Opportunity to share GCA (and shine the light of Christ from the stage!) with the community.
Leadership Goals with Students:
- Directors/Leaders work hard to create a comfortable environment and ensure that students never feel judged or embarrassed onstage.
- There’s a place for every student in the theatre department! We will be happy to find that place for them, whether it be on stage or helping with costumes, sets, props, lights, sound, etc.
Future Goals for the TA Department:
- Musical for Elementary; Musical for Middle School/High School
- Student Directed Shows
- Middle School/High School theatre students helping with Elementary shows
- Student-run backstage, sound, and lights
