GCA Welcomes Theatre Arts!
Our Theatre Arts program is more than just a stage, it's a place where creativity, collaboration, and confidence take center stage. Our recent production of The Lion King was a powerful testament to what happens when student talent meets dedication and community support. With stunning performances, vibrant costumes, and an unforgettable musical score, our cast and crew brought the savannah to life and left audiences inspired.
As we look to the future, we’re more excited than ever. Our Theatre Arts program continues to grow, offering students opportunities to discover their voice, build meaningful friendships, and explore the art of storytelling through drama, music, and design.
Whether they’re stepping into the spotlight or working behind the scenes, students are gaining valuable skills that extend far beyond the stage, leadership, teamwork, resilience, and creative expression.
Why a Theatre Program:
- To engage students who have a desire to be involved in theatrical arts.
- To foster growth in students creatively, to help them build their self-confidence, to show them the value of being a part of a team, and to grow them as bold disciples of Christ.
- Opportunity to share GCA (and shine the light of Christ from the stage!) with the community.
Leadership Goals with Students:
- Directors/Leaders work hard to create a comfortable environment and ensure that students never feel judged or embarrassed onstage.
- There’s a place for every student in the theatre department! We will be happy to find that place for them, whether it be on stage or helping with costumes, sets, props, lights, sound, etc.
Future Goals for the TA Department:
- Musical for Elementary; Musical for Middle School/High School
- Student Directed Shows
- Middle School/High School theatre students helping with Elementary shows
- Student-run backstage, sound, and lights
